15 Places to Use Your New Goose Creek Candle in Your Home

I'm one of the lucky few who got a chance to review one of the candles from Goose Creek Candle's American Heirloom collection of Scented Candles.

Just wait! Don't get jealous yet! I've got one for you too! Read on, my friend.

When I get to do a post like this one, I really enjoy taking the opportunity to challenge myself and write something a little different and about a subject I normally wouldn't write about. Now, if blogging had smell-o-vision, I would be all over that. I'm a candle/home scents kind of girl and I usually have some kind of scented something or other setting the mood for me when I'm at home. Most weeks don't pass without Chris asking me "Why do you always have to have smells? Everywhere you go, there's always a smell!"

I know, it sounds like he's telling me I stink up the place. And he is. Because to him scents like fresh laundry, new car, and vanilla cupcake are stinks. I always win out though because, well, he's wrong and I'm right.

So you can imagine, I wasn't too unhappy when I spent one cooler, rainy afternoon this week walking around my house and trying my new Goose Creek Candle out in different locations.

The scent I chose for my review was Mulled Cider. I often buy candles by this name in the Fall and I always love them. Let me tell you though, they are not the same.

First of all, it looks like a big ol' jar of old-fashioned homemade apple butter, sitting there on your counter, so right away you look like you must be some kind of amazing home maker. The scent is familiar, and smells like you'd expect from a mulled cider candle, but it's richer and deeper with more real fruit aroma. It also smells like home the way you always thought it should be, and like life is great, and like everything is going to be just fine. You know, one of those kind of scents.

Here are some of the great places you can use your jar of happiness around the house!

-On the kitchen counter. Any kitchen counter will do. Granite or fancy butcher block are not required.

-At your desk while you're working. (Like I have right now!)

-On top of the fridge.

-By the sink.

-In your mudroom so your family smells it when they get home.

-In the laundry room.

-Casting a warm glow on pictures of your ancestors.

-On a window sill next to real old jars.

-On top of the TV cabinet.

-Add it to any mantel (or fantel!) for a little extra oomph.

-On a side table right next to where you sit.

-In the dining room, to create a warm atmosphere when you walk by, even if you don't use the room often enough.

-On the coffee table while you relax and watch a little TV or read a magazine.

-In your stairwell hallway to fill multiple floors with the cozy scent.

You can see I've been having some fun.

Wanna have some fun too?

My Glasses Story and GlassesUSA.com

Now, I don't often write sponsored posts. This here today is a sponsored post. GlassesUSA.com didn't necessarily know how much I love my eyeglasses when they contacted me, but I do. I love to see all my projects clearly and I also really love the look of frames. So the partnership was a natural fit.

Here's my goofy profile photo again if you missed it.

I think they make me look smart! Well, maybe not so much in that picture...

I do sometimes enjoy seeing other bloggers take these types of posts and turn them into an opportunity to write about something a little different. It's fun to get to know new things about each other!

I don't know about you, but I feel like I'm always trying to clear my head. My brain gets foggy with all the millions of day to day things going on in life and something about having clear vision makes me feel like I'm more awake and suddenly I can think more clearly too. That's how I come up with all these great projects around here! OK, that and Pinterest.

I just bought myself some new frames a few months ago after about three years of searching. Really. I couldn't make a decision. New glasses are a big deal and they can be expensive! I was so worried I would make the wrong choice.

I finally settled on these!

They have sort of a tortoise shell look with a little gold plaque. I love them! But they were definitely an investment.

Until, oh, two days ago, I hadn't even thought that I could just order glasses online.

Here's the fun part!

When you're shopping at GlassesUSA.com they have this neat little tool.

Really, it's so much fun! I just got distracted by it right in the middle of writing this post.

Go ahead and try it out. I'll wait right here.

I really love that the program finds your webcam for you and your little face just shows right up on the screen. And the (amazingly low!) prices for each type of frame are listed right there as you're trying them all on.

If you've never thought about ordering eyeglasses online, give it a try! The internet just gets better and better everyday, I tell ya!

To make their prices even better than the traditional retail stores, GlassesUSA.com is offering readers of The Creek Line House these great discount codes:

1)Take 15% off your entire order amount AND get FREE shipping (orders over $50) Code: FS15

2)Take 10% off ANY order of prescription glasses. Code: Blog10

Enjoy your new glasses!

I was compensated by GlassesUSA.com to write this post, however, any and all opinions expressed and embarrassingly close up pictures of my face are mine and mine alone.
