15 Places to Use Your New Goose Creek Candle in Your Home

I'm one of the lucky few who got a chance to review one of the candles from Goose Creek Candle's American Heirloom collection of Scented Candles.

Just wait! Don't get jealous yet! I've got one for you too! Read on, my friend.

When I get to do a post like this one, I really enjoy taking the opportunity to challenge myself and write something a little different and about a subject I normally wouldn't write about. Now, if blogging had smell-o-vision, I would be all over that. I'm a candle/home scents kind of girl and I usually have some kind of scented something or other setting the mood for me when I'm at home. Most weeks don't pass without Chris asking me "Why do you always have to have smells? Everywhere you go, there's always a smell!"

I know, it sounds like he's telling me I stink up the place. And he is. Because to him scents like fresh laundry, new car, and vanilla cupcake are stinks. I always win out though because, well, he's wrong and I'm right.

So you can imagine, I wasn't too unhappy when I spent one cooler, rainy afternoon this week walking around my house and trying my new Goose Creek Candle out in different locations.

The scent I chose for my review was Mulled Cider. I often buy candles by this name in the Fall and I always love them. Let me tell you though, they are not the same.

First of all, it looks like a big ol' jar of old-fashioned homemade apple butter, sitting there on your counter, so right away you look like you must be some kind of amazing home maker. The scent is familiar, and smells like you'd expect from a mulled cider candle, but it's richer and deeper with more real fruit aroma. It also smells like home the way you always thought it should be, and like life is great, and like everything is going to be just fine. You know, one of those kind of scents.

Here are some of the great places you can use your jar of happiness around the house!

-On the kitchen counter. Any kitchen counter will do. Granite or fancy butcher block are not required.

-At your desk while you're working. (Like I have right now!)

-On top of the fridge.

-By the sink.

-In your mudroom so your family smells it when they get home.

-In the laundry room.

-Casting a warm glow on pictures of your ancestors.

-On a window sill next to real old jars.

-On top of the TV cabinet.

-Add it to any mantel (or fantel!) for a little extra oomph.

-On a side table right next to where you sit.

-In the dining room, to create a warm atmosphere when you walk by, even if you don't use the room often enough.

-On the coffee table while you relax and watch a little TV or read a magazine.

-In your stairwell hallway to fill multiple floors with the cozy scent.

You can see I've been having some fun.

Wanna have some fun too?

  1. I have three little boys, a 100 lb dog with an affinity for rolling in the mud, and a husband in the infantry who goes out into the field for weeks at a time (with no showers.) I think that is all I need to say to explain why I need some nice smelling things in my house!

  2. I really love my scentsy Warmers but I need candles still in places that plugs aren't. Plus they glow purdy so I'd use them on the mantle likely. Love the scents!

  6. Goose Creek Candle has so many tempting scents to choose from, but I think I would go with Hazelnut Cream, or maybe Dark Vanilla Bean, and Strawberry Rhubarb sounds wonderful too. I love food scents. Like you I wouldn't have any trouble finding a spot for one either, especially with teen boys and a dog.

Recently, Hogan, whose real name was legally changed to Warrior back in 1993, has still been able to fully forgive myself for this. Whatcha gonna do when Hulk Hogan Grill take out the heavyweight champ?Let's take a second out of TNA.
